How to use Car Log
Car Log keeps your car's service and expense records, saved straight from your chat in ChatGPT or Claude. You talk; Car Log stores, checks and shares the records.
What Car Log does
- Saves a service from a receipt, an invoice or a sentence: date, odometer, cost and line items.
- Answers what you spent, when a service last happened and which parts were used.
- Tells you what is due from the service intervals you set.
- Lets you correct any saved value, and keeps the value it replaced.
- Shares a read-only history with a buyer or mechanic, and exports your records and originals.
Car Log does not read your documents. ChatGPT or Claude reads them and passes Car Log the values; Car Log checks them, for example that the line items add up to the total, and saves them.
Connect Car Log
Car Log works inside your assistant. Connect it once; with the same account, your cars and records are the same in ChatGPT, in Claude and on this website.
- Install Car Log from ChatGPT's plugin directory. Not listed yet? Open chatgpt.com/plugins, select + and Add custom MCP server: name Car Log, paste the server address, choose OAuth, then Create as a plugin.
- Sign in to Car Log, then select Agree and connect.
- Back in the chat, say “Add my car” with its make, model, year and odometer.
Add Car Log from the Claude directory, or connect it by hand:
- Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector. Name it Car Log and paste the server address. Free plans allow one custom connector.
- Select Connect, sign in to Car Log, then Agree and connect.
- In a chat, turn on Car Log and say “Add my car”.
Signing in
Sign in with your email and a password, with a six-digit code we email you (it expires after 5 minutes), or with Google. New here? Create an account with an email and password. Forgot it? Choose Forgot password? and we email you a reset link. Then add a car: every record belongs to one car.
What you can ask
Say it in your own words and language; these are examples. Name the car when you have more than one, or Car Log asks which.
Send a photo or PDF, or describe the service. The assistant reads it; Car Log checks the values and saves the record. Unsure values are flagged for you to confirm.
Records newest first, with totals per currency. Amounts in different currencies are never converted.
Worked out from the service intervals you set and the newest matching record. Car Log sends no reminders; ask when you want to know.
Fix a saved value, the car a record belongs to, or the car's own details. The old value stays in the record's history.
An archived car keeps its records and share links, leaves your car lists and takes no new records until you bring it back.
A read-only link to one car's history that opens without signing in and expires after 30 days. Original documents stay private unless you include them.
A CSV with one row per record and a ZIP of the stored originals named by date. The download links work for 24 hours.
You confirm by typing the word delete. A deleted record or file can be brought back for 30 days. Deleting everything offers an export first and cannot be undone.
Cards and replies come in 10 languages. Your currency is used only for amounts that show none.
Files and originals
The photo or PDF a record came from is its original. A record keeps up to 10 originals of 25 MB each, and you can open them from the record on this website.
- ChatGPT passes the file with the values, so Car Log keeps it as the record's original.
- Claude reads the file and passes the values, but not the file itself. The record is saved without an original.
Using Claude? To keep the original, open the car on karlog.rsteam.uz and choose Add the original on the record.
The website
Sign in at karlog.rsteam.uz with the same account to see every car and record, correct a record, add originals, manage share links, export, and set your language and currency.
Your data and deletion
- Your chat messages are not stored. Car Log receives only what the assistant sends when it uses a Car Log tool.
- Records and originals are kept on Car Log's server in Germany. Nothing is shared unless you create a link.
- Delete a record or a file, or all your data, from the chat or on the website. A deleted record or file can be restored for 30 days; deleting everything cannot be undone.
